Lead without being a dictator

I cannot reiterate enough (and for those of you that are new to my blog) the difference between being a leader and being a dictator.

It is paramount that you not only learn and understand the difference between these two points but actually be a leader.

As we get closer to the end of another year and what a year it has been, we need to look back and see if we led our team, did they do and deliver that which was required and more importantly are they going to be there next year?

The last question to ask yourself is, “Will you be there next year”?

If you are not the owner of the company did you do a good enough job that the stakeholders want to keep you and your team want you to be there ?

Leadership requires you to be firm, but the best skills you can learn is how to get people to do what you need them to, because they want to not because they have to.

Be firm but not a tyrant.
