Two ways to screw up the week!

Sharing is caring!

Given its monday I thought why not try and iron out some bad habits that prevent us from having a good week. Hindsight, should have probably published this yesterday so you had time to read it – but better late than never I guess!

So how to screw up the week:

  1. Hit the snooze button – Did you stay up too late? You need to behave on Sundays so that you are ready for Monday. If you get going at the start – you already in the race. If you take a two cars on a race track – if one has a rolling start towards the start line and the other only takes off when that car approaches the line – the first car will always be ahead.
  2. Don’t Check Email – This is the worst thing you can do. You are looking at what everybody else wants to do or wants from you. If you read this first thing there goes the concentration right out the window. You see you need to do and focus on what you want to do for the week and not what others want from you – this is the catch up cycle we are always faced with.

I remember I had an employee once tell me, in the interview stage, that he checks email when he is ready to. He went on to say that this was not something that would impact his work or deliverables but if it was going to be a problem for us as employers then he is not the right guy. He turned out to be a great guy and as he said he would, he checked his emails when he was ready too and never missed a deadline or delivery!

Decide on what you are doing and do what you have planned to do before worrying about what others are wanting from you.

There is one caveat to this advice, you should read through and share the Daily Deliaf as soon as you get it 😉
