Yesterday I spoke about the herd mentality.
Our fear of not being liked or people disapproving of us leads us to not want to shake things up; to cause change.
This can be directly correlated to success or failure.
Take Donald Trump.
Arguably the most powerful man on the planet. Yet 50% of his country don’t like him in fact have a strong resentment to him. Why do I say this?
Well he won the election by just over half the votes. This means anywhere he goes, half the people don’t like him. It’s a weird way of looking at it but I am saying it to show that in order to cause things to change you can’t always be popular or liked.
I would argue that the higher you climb up the corporate ladder the more people don’t like you. And that’s ok!
If you are wondering why you are not as successful as you would like to be maybe look at your popularity! You have heard the saying: “Nice guys finish last!”
